A warm introduction – students love to learn about their teachers!
A suggested first lesson date and schedule – students appreciate seeing the first lesson date and regular schedule
Confirmation of meeting location or virtual platform – it's a good idea to confirm the in-person class location and/or virtual platform by providing a meeting invite link after you schedule your lesson in GLTEngage. Please remind your learner that they can log into GLTEngage before the lesson and click START CLASS to begin a virtual lesson or click the special link that you have provided from GLTEngage.
Acknowledgment of students' learning goals and preferences – this builds confidence with your student from the very beginning
Set expectations for the first lesson – make your students feel comfortable by providing a general plan for the first meeting

Students are required to cancel their lesson with you at least 24 hours in advance of the lesson start time so they don't lose the hour.
If a student tells you they need to cancel less than 24 hours in advance, you may submit this lesson as a Late Cancellation in GLTEngage. You will be paid for the lesson and the student will lose the hour (or whichever duration the lesson had) from their total.
When a student cancels, you must confirm with your student that you will see them at your next scheduled lesson.
If a student does not contact you to cancel a lesson but does not join you for the lesson, please wait for your student for 15 minutes. If they do not show up, you may submit this lesson as a No Show in GLTEngage. You will be paid for the lesson, and the student will lose the hour (or whichever duration the lesson had) from their total.
When a lesson is a No Show, the teacher must contact the student (or parent) to let them know they missed their lesson at the scheduled time and ask if the student will join their next lesson or if they'd like to reschedule for another time. If the student does not reply to confirm they will join the next lesson, that next lesson, as well as any further lessons, should not be scheduled and submitted until the student replies.
If the student does not reply after multiple attempts, please inform your Talent Success Consultant so that we can ask the student's coach to contact them as well. If the student does not respond to their coach, we will continue to try to contact them in other ways on your behalf. We will make every effort to assign you to a new student if this happens.
We would like for every student to use as many of their learning hours as possible and we know it is your goal as well. Thank you very much for your support and please let us know what we can do to help if you ever have questions about no-shows, late cancellations, or motivating learners to attend lessons consistently.
If you deliver in-person lessons, we ask that you comply with all local laws and guidelines regarding COVID-19 in order to keep yourself and your students safe.
Discuss what you and your student feel comfortable with during your first interaction. They may prefer to sit further away, to wear a mask, to meet virtually if one of you was exposed, or not to shake hands, for example.
Discuss if either of you has been exposed so you can decide if you should meet in person.
Inform your student if you are unwell (not only with COVID but also the flu or any other illness you might be able to spread to your student during your lesson) and therefore unable to meet in person as soon as possible. If you are well enough, please arrange to meet virtually or reschedule.
Teachers are responsible for ensuring that all their hours are scheduled and submitted each month in GLTEngage. If you did not join a lesson through GLTEngage due to technical difficulties or for in-person lessons, the lesson submission deadline is the last day of each calendar month (23:59 US Eastern Time). Please do not wait until the deadline as your students need to approve the lesson so that we can process the payment.
The below payment schedule represents the date your payment will be sent, but please allow 3-5 business days for the payment to appear in your account.
