A Welcome Packet: Provides important information about the local area and is tailored to the needs and interests of the employee/family. It includes the following:

A Welcome Meeting: After the initial face-to-face introduction, the Destination Service Consultant will sit down with the employee/family and have a meeting to review:
- The role of the Destinations Service Consultant
- The Program Checklist (authorized tasks)
- The agenda for the week
- The housing search process
- The Welcome Packet contents
Area Orientation Tour: An employee/family’s first impression of a new location has a significant impact on their attitudes as they prepare for the move. The Area Orientation Tour is designed to highlight the positive aspects of the area and is specifically tailored for the employee/family, and their life style.
Global LT’s Destination Service Consultants, among other traits, are chosen for their extensive expertise of the cities in which they live. The Consultant helps the employee feel both welcome and supported by following a well thought-out process that is adapted to meet their individual needs and requests.
Home Finding: Looking for a new home is usually an exciting and emotional time for expatriates. Global LT knows that a big part of our job is to fulfill the needs of the employee while adhering to the housing guidelines and budget which has been provided by their company.
We partner with Real Estate Professionals who specialize in working with expatriates and leased housing. Prior to being introduced to the employee, we confer with the realtors to ensure that they understand, respect, and follow the client’s policies and guidelines.
Once a property has been selected, we work to negotiate a favorable lease. The lease is double checked by Global LT, which confirms that nothing is incorrect or has been overlooked. It should be noted that Global LT receives no referral fees.
School Search: The Destination Services Consultants work closely with the employee to identify suitable options (public or private), check availability, schedule interviews and tours, and assist with the enrollment process.
Temporary Housing: It is not unusual for an employee to need temporary accommodations as they await to either take occupancy of their new residence or receive their household shipment. Global LT can make temporary living arrangements for the employee/family.
Settling-In Services: These services begin when the employee actually moves to the host country to start their new assignment. They start with a Comprehensive Community Orientation. Global LT provides an in-depth tour of the new community to the employee/family. These tours may include banking, shopping, post offices, medical and emergency services, recreational facilities, clubs, restaurants, and any additional requests from the employee.
The Destination Service Consultant accompanies the employee to apply for driver’s licenses, meet local and national registration requirements, complete school forms, and assist with all other documents required in their new country and community.
Settling-in service provides assistance with, but not limited to:
- Furniture selection assistance
- Banking assistance
- Renter’s and other insurance needs
- Shopping Malls
- Grocery markets
- Post Office
